On Monday July 29th REDstack started with the first real activities for constructing its pilot installation at Breezanddijk (Afsluitdijk, The Netherlands). This pilot installationwill enable a research programme of REDstack BV, FujiFilm Europe BV and Wetsus aimed at gaining insight in pre-treatment aspects and energy harvesting with the Reverse Electro Dialysis (RED) technology.
The pilot installation will make it possible to measure and analyse this process on a scale of 200 m3/h salt and 200 m3/h fresh surface water. The capacity of this pilot will grow to 50 kW during the research programme. After the pilot period, further scaling up is foreseen.
The insights and results of the pilot installation will provide the project Energising deltas with valuable input.
