Action Group ´Energy & Water Works´ approved

The European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water) welcomes 16 new Action Groups including ‘Energy & Water Works’ (EWW) with Energising deltas as a participating Dutch project.

The main goal of the EIP-Water Action Group ‘Energy & Water Works – Energizing sustainable deltas (EWW Action Group) is to enhance European interest in the innovative crossovers between energy and water in the development of policy, markets and knowledge, and to further the relevant industrial policies. To achieve that goal the Action Group EWW will organise several international conferences and workshops at which the knowledge and experience of the EWW projects will be shared and at which the EWW Action Group partners will address common innovation bottlenecks and barriers, the issues relating to the governance of innovation. These issues are features of, and come to light in, all phases of the innovation cycle (research & development, market, exports). Each issue comprises problems common to the participating projects and parties since the EWW Action Group contributes to the end goals of the Water EIP, namely: smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. By addressing these issues, the action group will serve an umbrella function, overarching the EWW projects that participate.

About EIP Water
The European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water) is an initiative within the EU 2020 Innovation Union. The EIP Water facilitates the development of innovative solutions to address major European and global water challenges. At the same time, the EIP Water supports the creation of market opportunities for these innovations, both inside and outside of Europe. It aims to remove barriers by advancing and leveraging existing solutions. Its implementation has started in May 2013 with the main objective to initiate and promote collaborative processes for change and innovation in the water sector across the public and private sector, non-governmental organisations and the general public. This is mainly done via the establishment of Action Groups and other Working Groups.
