Subsidised by the European North West Interreg programme, Belgian, British, French and Dutch partners are working together on the development and testing of tidal energy systems for low-head tidal range and low velocity tidal stream conditions.
Aim
To develop tidal and tideway energy systems to produce energy profitably in coastal and estuarine zones.
Three companies, three research institutes and Energy Valley are developing the concept of Energising Deltas with the financial support of EFRO. The concept combines water safety and water management with the production of sustainable energy to develop an innovative product for export.
Aim
To obtain knowledge of optimal energy generation with minimal effects on the environment and combining energy production with water safety and water management. This knowledge will give the Dutch trade and industry a head start on the world market.
